Hey there!
Welcome to the blog! My name is Marissa, and I am a twenty-something Chicago transplant, originally from Cleveland, Ohio. Writing has always been my thing. True story: In the second grade, I used to write my teacher short stories on the back of my homework. I also wrote books to share with family and friends. It was my escape, my way of expressing myself as a shy kid...and still is to this day.
My journey here from Ohio has been an adventure thus far. I graduated from Miami University of Ohio in 2018, studying Marketing and Spanish. My goal after graduation was to get a job in advertising in Chicago, and sure enough, that brings us to today!
For four years, I worked for an ad agency, implementing eCommerce marketing solutions for a CPG client. I recently switched jobs and am now working directly for another CPG company. I’m very passionate about my job, but throughout college and these past few years of living in the “real world,” I have really missed my first love, which of course, is writing.
Thus the blog was born!
Some things about me

I LOVE to eat (most people who know me understand why this is first, priorities folks!) I am so lucky to live in one of the most incredible food cities in the country, so you can definitely count on some restaurant posts/reco’s in the future.
I also really love to cook (and take pics of my food, like any good Millennial/Gen Z kid). My Mom is my cooking inspiration, and I channel my inner-Sheri each time I turn the stove on and get cookin!
I am a mixed kid: Half Pakistani, Half White (My Dad is a 1st generation immigrant here and I am so proud of my heritage for that.)
I love a good true crime podcast.
I am a biiiiiiig coffee person. Iced, Hot, Tall, Venti, whatever it is, I want it.

I love to travel (my most recent trip was to Miami, FL, pictured to the left!).
Most of all, I love to make people laugh!
